About Paul

 

Paul Touey has been a health and fitness entrepreneur for more than twenty years. He was co-founder of one of Austin, Texas’ most premier personal training studios, Fitness on Fifth. Paul has worked with clients of all kinds, including those seeking to excel athletically, those with chronic injuries, including post-rehab and post-surgery patients, the elderly, and those looking for overall health and fitness.

 

He is also skilled at helping people who may be apprehensive about exercise and intimidated by the gym setting. By combining the knowledge of sound, science-based exercise mechanics and proper progression techniques, Paul has proven time and again that he can help anyone improve and maintain good health and fitness for many years.

 

Paul holds a master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences and has held numerous nationally recognized certifications, including the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health Fitness Instructor and the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is currently pursuing a mastery certification as a resistance training specialist and he has stayed current in the field with various continuing education courses, workshops and seminars focusing on biomechanics, neuroscience, motor learning and human anatomy. His articles have been published by the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, the American College of Sports Medicine Health and Fitness Journal, and Austin Fit magazine.

 

Paul is originally from Pennsylvania, where he twice placed second in statewide body-building competitions. Paul and his wife, Heather, and Boston Terrier Max, live in Austin, Texas.
